We are all doing what we can as people and companies to counter the terrible negative effects of this current virus but, at the same time, I am seeing positive things happening in our community that I have not seen for a very long time. On behalf of the far smarter people who started this train of thought, myself and my team at Expert DOJO I would like to share the below as another way we can look at life long after this virus is gone..
“And, what if…”
If we subscribe to the philosophy that life is always working out for us, that there is an intelligence far greater than humans at work…
That all is interconnected.
What if… the virus is here to help us?
To reset. To remember what is truly important.
Reconnecting with family and community
Reconnecting with family, as there is more time at home. We see whole cities and countries coming together in the streets clapping for our real heroes and personalities, the health workers. We sit down together for dinner and finally have time for each other.
Taking care of our environment
Reducing travel so that the environment, the skies, the air, our lungs all get a break. Parts of China are seeing blue sky and clouds for the first time in forever with the factories being shut down.
Smarter working, not harder working
Working from home rather than commuting to work (less pollution, more personal time). We also get more work done and are more efficient with our zoom room meetings and daily work, giving us more time to ourselves in the evening.
Our own mental health
An invitation to turn inwards — a deep meditation — rather than the usual extroverted going out to self-soothe. This time is an opportunity to reconnect with self — “what is really important to me?”
A reset economically
The Government and people are noticing the working poor. The lack of healthcare access for over 30 million in the US. The need for paid sick leave. How hard does one need to work to be able to live, to have a life outside of work?
And, washing our hands — how did that become a “new” thing that we needed to remember. But, yes, we did.
The presence of Grace for all
There is a shift underway in our society — what if it is one that is favorable for us? What if this virus is an ally in our evolution?
What comes next for Expert DOJO
We are mid way through our launch of project 10,000, which is our way to touch 10,000 new entrepreneurs in a positive way. We will be fully launched in April. That our ” What if” commitment.
What comes next for the world
In our remembrance of what it means to be connected, humane, living a simpler life, to be less impactful/ more kind to our environment. Maybe we can notice other people hardships a little more and start to care for those who are outside our family and friend circle. Maybe we can ask people we do not know how they are and really mean it. Maybe you will also make a ” What if” commitment today
Look at what is happening as another perspective. Another way of relating to this virus, this unfolding, this evolution.
It was time for a change, we all knew that. Spread awareness not panic.
And, change has arrived.
What if…the “What if..” movement has only just begun
